Introducing Green Vet Homes: Helping Veterans Find Quality Housing

Posted on

Kirby Atwell got his entrepreneurial start as the founder of iCandy Homes, a fast-growing real estate development company in Chicago, which he is in the process of selling and transitioning into Green Vet Homes.  Green Vet Homes is a real estate investment company focused on wholesaling, buying, and holding real estate investment deals.  Their main goal is to provide quality housing for veterans and their families.

In Kirby’s own words:

“I just bought this Oak Lawn property about a month ago. It looked pretty rough (the smell was worse, trust me), but I had a vision for what it could be and, more importantly, who it could help.

It was right around the time that I left iCandy Homes, the real estate company that I built and grew over the past four plus years. I decided I wanted to start a new company with a purpose I am passionate about and personally connected to: providing quality housing for vets and their families.”

Kirby has been a member of Bunker Labs for about a year and a half.  He feels that having a network of people who share a similar background and similar goals for the future is extremely valuable in his personal growth to develop Green Vet Homes.

“Regardless of what the media says, I can tell you first hand, people are still awesome and want to help their fellow man (or woman as the case may be) and it is inspiring to see.”

“I love the fact that it’s possible to run a sound, profitable business while still helping those that need it most.”

Kirby was honored to be a featured guest recently on the “Rental Income Podcast.”  The episode was recorded a few months before he started Green Vet Homes, but it was released just recently.

Some of the topics discussed in the podcast are:

  • Renting houses in military communities
  • Owning rental property remotely
  • Using your IRA to fund your rental property purchases

So how can you help Kirby and his mission?

“I could really use your help finding properties in the Chicago South Suburbs that I can fix up and rent to military vets.

Maybe you know someone has inherited a home they don’t want. Or maybe someone you know has an ugly house that they’d like to see fixed up and rented to a veteran in need. I would love to meet anyone looking to sell their home so that I can give them an offer on it. Just shoot me an email.”

“I wanted to write really quickly to say thanks. I have been overwhelmed by all of the support since starting Green Vet Homes just a few months ago.”
